November 11th marks an important holiday in America: Veterans Day. This day honors the many brave service men and women that serve this country. The long weekend is an opportunity to thank them and recognize the freedoms and liberties we enjoy because of their efforts. So, thank you!
This is the 75th Veterans Day since it became a legal holiday in 1938. In order to properly thank those that have served our country, some businesses are offering great deals, steals, and freebies. Veterans Day freebies make it possible for even those on a tight budget to celebrate this important holiday. All day on November 11th, Applebee’s is inviting active duty military personnel and veterans to have a signature entree on the house. All one has to do to take advantage of this deal is show proof of military service such as a U.S. uniformed services ID card or retired ID card. Signature entrees include (but aren’t limited to):
- Double Crunch Shrimp
- Bacon Cheddar Cheeseburger
- House Sirloin
- Chicken Tenders Platter
McCormick & Schmick’s
McCormick & Schmick’s is also offering veterans a free dine-in meal on Sunday, November 10th (the day before Veterans Day). Plus more amazing entrees! In addition, select bottles of Stag’s Leap Wine will be discounted by 50%. Please note, proof of military service is required. Veterans can enjoy their choice of:
- Salmon Rigatoni
- Buttermilk Fried Shrimp
- Blackened Chicken Fettuccine
- Beer Battered Fish Chips
From 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., Golden Corral is having its annual Military Appreciation Monday which provides a free “thank you” dinner to US military personnel. This deal is available to all members of the U.S. military including retirees, veterans, activity duty, and National Guard and Reserves members. Military Appreciation Monday has become a tradition at Golden Corral. This family friendly restaurant has been hosting this event for the past 12 years. During that time the restaurant has served more than 3.7 million free meals to U.S. military members!
Max & Erma’s
Max & Erma’s is also thanking veterans this November 11th. The restaurant will give U.S. military members (veterans and active duty members) a free “Best Cheeseburger in America” combo meal. This combo meal includes soup or salad, a fresh-never-frozen cheeseburger that’s been cooked to perfection, and a gooey, fresh baked chocolate chip cookie! Make sure to bring proof of military service in order to claim this delicious freebie.
